I think they need to make Camaro, a company. Just Camaro...and they build...Camaros. End of story. I think there should be a seperate division for the Camaro apart from everything else. If that happens, nothing will ever beable to touch the Z or SS, not even the Z06...

*smashes head on desk* youre not going to have anyone building camaros that are better then Z06's unless you plan on spending 70 grand on a camaro. And then its not really a camaro anymore. Come on people think before you speak.

To be even CLOSE:

IRS, 1.05g's, mid 12 second cars, top out at 170+. It ain't gonna happen.

And like Doug said it would be a $70k something....sure wouldn't be a Camaro. GM will make it again. Just a matter of when. I'd be expecting around 400hp, high 12 second cars with a good driver and a retro look.

As much as I'd love to see a 1st-gen look-alike make an appearance, I'd have to say it probably wouldn't stackup anywhere near the originals... I don't see it really selling THAT well, but i'm sure some die-hards would be into it.

and a new IROC? I doubt they would make one. They'd probably use the "Z28" name, still.. they'd have to get a contract to use IROC, i'd guess. and it wouldn't make any sense.. considering there are no IROC's going on any more (talking about the race, not the car)

As much as I'd like to see an IROC also, your right about the contract and it wouldn't make sense without the IROC scene. I'm mixed up on the whole 5th generation issue:

There's no doubt in my mind that I want to see another Camaro generation whether it's 2006, 2007 model year...but I'm afraid that eventhough retro is the hype now-a-days, do you think it's based off of....alright, here it goes...basketball jersey's?

Obviously it can't be, but I feel that if the Camaro comes back, it shouldn't push to be as retro as can be. I think the retro styling is a good idea, but don't put it in front of functionality is all I'm saying. BTW, this is all IMO, to each his own. I'm not saying they will put the styling in front of functionality, but I hope GM comes up with something beyond some of the concepts I'm seeing. While I'm at it, I'd like to see RS, Z28, SS as the lineup (LT would be cool too )

and no way will it stack up to the originals, and will die hards be all over it? Not sure about that one either...the die hards may feel they are trying too hard depending on what styling comes out, or the die hards might think they're not doing enough for the heritage and tradition. All IMO.
