Post Damned Electrical Problems!

Last saturday i broke a bolt off in my intake trying to install a 625 cfm Demon. Well, I didnt want to take a chance of f-ing anything else up, so i took it to a local garage. They put the carb on, and a new HEI distributor (the old one was for fuel injection or something). Well, the day after I got it back, the car died and wouldnt start. I had to get a jumpstart and limp it back to the garage. They replaced the alternator, and sentme on my way. A few hours later, I got the exact same thing.

SOOOOO, i took my battery to autozone where it was still under warranty. They charged it and tested it and told me it was fine. So, i took back the new alternator, and went to O'Reilly Auto and bought one with a lifetime warranty. They put it on this morning and sent me on my way yet again, telling me to put the car on a battery charger for a while. It sat on the car for about 4 hours, and I presumed things would be alright. I went out to the movies, and cruised town for an hour with no problems. THEN my stereo started turning itself off, and I headed home.

I really just cant figure out what the hell is wrong. Is it my new stereo system? I had it for a few days before i changed the carburator with no problems. Is it the HEI distributor affecting it? If anyone has an idea whats wrong, id appreciate some help...

Maybe you got a rotten alternator. I bought one from autozone and it wasn't any good from the begining. Have it tested.

did u have fuel injection on it before?

u have the hook the wires up on the back of the alternator like the factory did....

u must have a wire that goes to the battery, and a "excite" wire....that turns on the regulator when the ignition is on..

is the plug on the back of the alternator 3 wires or 2??

let me know i can help
