Angry crossmember

I went to the stupid auto body shops and they told me that its gonna cost 1800 to replace the crossmember... this has gotta be bull****... i've seen crossmemebers for like 200 dollars... cam anybody tell me if this is right or if this is BS?!?!?!?!!?!?! please help....

There's no way that could be a tranny crossmember....that's a $10 junkyard part and a half hour worth of labor.

If you mean the crossmember that's directly below the engine (K-member) than I can almost see that kinda cost. You can't really change it without pulling the motor and most of the front suspension. It's still a little bit much though.....

If that's a k-member then I'd just go ahead and put in a tubular for that price, lighter and faster and stronger, oh yeah!!

And it won't cost ya $1800.00 unless you get crazy with other suspension stuff.
