Open element air cleaner Q's

Those of you using the 14"x3" open element, are you using the flat centered, flat offset or drop offset ones? Which ones fit without hood clearance problems. A part# would be nice. I really don't get it..

i've got the drop base air cleaner from Edelbrock, I can't run a carb stud b/c my intake is too high (edelbrock performer rpm) even with the drop base, btw I have a 14x2 air cleaner

its not a big deal cause the hood holds it on for me

Back in the day, when I still had a TBI system in the car, I ran a generic 1" drop base air cleaner with a 14x3" K&N. In fact, I still use the same filter and base with my Performer RPM, Edelbrock 750, and K&N X-Stream lid. I've never had a problem with hood clearance.
