Computer Programming
Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know. I am now porgramming vehicles. I purchased the complete program from TunerCat. I am able to do chip burns as well as Flash Programs not only for f-bodies but for all GM vehicles. If you are interested in these services please e-mail me at Wrangler_01@hotmail.com so I can check to see if your vehicle is supported by my software...I check this address daily so feel free to ask any questions you may have. My prices are as follows:
Flash Program OBD I:$100 (up to 95)
Flash Program OBD II: $125 (96 and newer)
Chip burns: $125 (this includes a new chip and your old chip back for stock comparison)

Re: Computer Programming
assuming you know what your doing putting you in the 5% of those out there that's pretty good pricing. might want to check with the admins though as advertising on any site and not paying for it usually isn't allowed.
if you haven't done a car here before it might be best to do a few discounted first. i love the idea about keeping the old chip for comparison though.
good luck.

ok how about a 86 iroc with a stock 305 tpi comp, could you burn a chip to make that stock comp work with a 383 with stock injectors and maybe a cam?what is the biggest cam you can tune for
Re: Computer Programming
that would depend on the build of the 383. in theory it's possible, however it would be best to at least have an updated properly working fuel system and a more powerful fuel pump wouldn't certainly help.
i ran 36lb svo injectors with a walbro 340 intank pump to support my 383, beyond that everything ecm and overall ignition wise from the factory worked very well. a proper dfi would have been leaps and bounds over the slow and outdated 730 though but it still worked so it is possible.

Re: Computer Programming
Slow and out dated? The 730 is my weapon of choice when it comes to custom street rod's or other systems. I've got a 730 in a 502 Big block 70' chevelle, a 730 in a 502 impala in NY, and a 730 running a 441 CID 670 horse small block with 60lbs motron injectors (high impedance).. Its not slow and outdated.. its a basic DFI right out of the factory.
Not all 383's are created equal. However, i would still prefer to see a set of 24lbs injectors at least in a 383 TPI.

Re: Computer Programming
i wish you lived here in michigan so that you could sit and argue with the gm guys who designed it showing me it's slow compared to the options out there. more power to you if you can make it work as i'd love to see you do it in person with some of the things i've had to come across with heavily modified motors it just doesn't work well enough. keeping this simple i've witnessed first hand my share of many various companies that are big right now doing very poor jobs. seeing first hand how well you can really do it would be nice.

The processor speed is not slow in the 730. I don't know who you get your information from but its a quite capable ECM. Its sounds like they did quite a bit of Bsing. I also don't know who these big companys are that your referring too. If someone called me up from across the country and asked me to do one of these really wild or unusual tunes I woudl tell them no.. i need to be there in person for that.
IF you want to see some of my work you can check out the 70' Chevelle I tuned in the March 05 popular Hotrodding. Or just call Roy at Fbodymotorsports.. it was his car.
The 502 impala makes it to just about everyone of the impalla shows from NY to las vegas.
I think you'll be quite surpized who owns the 441 with a 730 I tuned. Lets just say hes huge vender for the DIY efi crowd. I flew down to help him with it just last July.
Almost forgot about a 406 CID small block in a 69 Camaro I tuned.. I flew down LA to do that one too... That was a mean car.. would drive really well, crank and run when its cold, super fast response, and on the test drive it picked up the front a bit on the street. (it was a fiberglass front end.. it was a flat out race car )

Re: Computer Programming
no point in getting into it with you, i'm sure we can both call names long enough to list a phone book. there is no point, if you say you can do it more power to you. as i said it isn't that it can't be done, it's that it can be done better from my experiences and that's just it as it's from my experiences. if you have had better luck then great, god bless you as i've spent way to many years dealing with the b.s that was solved overnight using other ways and it absolutely wasn't worth it.
alvin i almost forgot to ask, have you ever worked with john meaney? he's one of the few i've ever met that really knew what he was doing. at least your smart enough to be up front about wanting that car to do heavily modified tunes rather then shipping back/forth, that's great. i work with quite a few things for primedia here in michigan throughout the year, if your ever out this way working with someone please let me know as i'd like to see your work first hand.
