bottom shock bolt TQ spec? what is it?

what the torque is for the bottom bolts. The book says 70ft lbs That cant be, thats just way to much, if I was to put that much torque on the bottom bolts the lock washer would open up and not be worth a damn and would smash the rubber bushing on it. The tq for the top mount bolt is only 13 ftlbs.

anyone know?

As tight as you can get it with a 3/8" drive ratchet, or fairly tight with a 1/2" drive. That's as close as I can get you.

the top spec is correct but I highly doubt that 70ftlbs is right for the bottom bolt.

Should I just tighten it till the lock washer closes up flat and be done with it?

When you say tight as I can get it, do you mean without crushing the bushing?

The lower shock mount should have a "shoulder" bolt which will only tighten so far. Tighten it as far as it'll go.

If it's not a shoulder bolt, tighten it till the bushing compresses a little and then stop. Make sure the lockwasher is flattened. I'd advise loctite in this instance.
