Thanks a lot, great reading! After tuning up my car good + new springs and shocks (4), I'm starting my first real mods: open air element, taking out cat , bushing kit poly. Am being careful, reading...Keeping you posted. have a great week-end.

i wouldn't spend my money on suspension if you want the most for your money...i agree that a time comes where you would need good suspension components, but not first. I would port the intake, get a set of gears 3.42 for an auto, small converter, DR's. If you race the 1/4 mile I would put on a NOS adjustable wet shot kit. I have a similar setup as this w/ the 2.73 stock gear and rearend in my full weight formula, stock tranny, stock converter...running low 12's. I do have SFC b/c the flex is there pulling the left front off the ground. BTW it is a stock TPI motor.

I think one of the BEST suspension mods is the "Lowering Brackets" from BMR for the rear of the LCA's(Lower Control Arms). They cause the rear to push more upwards than forwards, planting the tires HARD!
Stock location causes the rear to squat under hard acceleration, pulling the car down and tires up off the pavement.
Relocating them does the opposite, it pushes the rear of the car upwards an tires downwards PLANTING the tires!
In other words it changes the (IC)"Instant Center"to a more rearward location.
Beware, I broke my front left drivers seat bracket because mine "STUCK" so hard off the line the first time out. I almost went into the back seat..hahahha!
