OK, heres what you gotta do. Theres the clip on the alternator that has three wires. A red wire a brown wire and another brown wire with a white stripe. The red is the power. The two brown wires are what tells your alternator what kind of charge to put out. One is normal load and the other is for heavy load.

From what you'r saying, one of those wires isn't getting power to it. Grab a test light and poke the two brown wires while you have all the accesories on. I'm pretty sure that one of those wires won't have power to it. Then just follow the wire without power checking every 6-12 inches down the wire.

I had a similar problem with mine and it ended up being a bad connection in the main wire harness that plugs into hte firewall.

Good luck! Let us know if it works or not!

Did you reset the ecm? The computer needs to relearn the O2 readings. TRy changing the fuel filters too.

so i went out riding like around the block and stuff. well the car ran perfect!. but as b4, when i hit the fans, or headlights, the thing just dies!. and i tried a new alternator, a friends alternator. and it doesnt seem to make the slightest difference.

Doin' a carb lol YEr as bad as me...you will LOVE the enhanced top end however that comes with a decent intake and carb!! later man and goodluck. I suggest a typical Holley 750 if you have a 350 engine or just a 600 Holley for a 305 engine. My 600 was perfect right out of the box, all that needed to be done was an idle adjustment to get it down to 600 instead of 750...later man!
