305 fuel pump to 350 swap carbed

305 fuel pump to 350 swap carbed

How do I go about changing my fuel supply setup to support a carb since the PSI is so different....my pump is in the tank right?

If you can find a regulator to drop the pressure from 42 down to 6-8, then I would go that route since it would be the easiest.

Check to see if they offer a low psi intank pump and just swap yours out.

Replace your intank pump with a small rubber line and install an external low PSI pump or a pump on the block.

Only thing with the pump on the block is routing your fuel lines over to the pass side.

I did the Carb to TPI swap on my 86. That was lots of fun.

I sense....sarcasm....my buddy says a bypass with a ball valve might work. Just adjust the ball valve until the pressure is 6psi.....there is a fuel return line correct? fuel comes out the pump.....and there is a return line that goes back?

It's coming down to the wire....last night as we timed the cam and began sealing the engine up for good, we ran into a couple bumps that made us stop (summit rebult kit intake gaskets didn't fit my vortec heads, new water pump, spark plugs) all which I just purchased at pep boys....so the fuel issue is the only thing prevent my POS 305 from coming out....thnx for the info....hopefully one of those ways will work....this was supposed to be a "budget" build....2500$ later I'm like "ANOTHER 150$ FOR A FUEL PUMP!". I also hear installing inline pumps is annoying....

Just a little bit of sarcasm.

There is a return line that goes back, it is the smaller of the 2 lines, it's a 5/16" line.
I installed an inline on my car, it wasn't that bad,

How much do inline pumps run? Im not exactly sure how he wanted to set it up....but it sounded good, and easy...

thnx for the help zeph...how hard/easy were the LCAs and panhard?

My inline was $143 from Summit, but I got a 45psi 230l/ph.


LCA and panhard is really easy as long as your bolts aren't rusted to the metal sleeve inside the bushings.

Triple pod is from Autometer and I bought it from Jegs a couple of years ago. $53.
