305 to 335 stoker is overloading help and won't start easily
ok guys i went and bought a 91 z28 and i thought it still had the 305 in it well i got ahold of the guy that did the work on the car. the guy i bought it from wasn't the guy that did the work. so teh motor the trans and the rear end was taken out at 73000 milies and the motor was changed to a 335 stroker motor and the trans and rear end were built it has a custom comp chip. the problem is that it doesn't want to start it turns the motor over and i can get it to start if i spend so time doing it, and it hasn't jumped time. also when i get it started it is overloading. black smoke out the tail pipes so it is running way to rich and i was wondering if thats the cause of it not starting right. i have changed the o2 senser and the MAP senser and before i blow any more money i was wondering if anyone had a good idea. there r 2 more sensers they say control the gas flow and thats the ECM a TPS well guys i need help computer **** isn't my specialty on cars so if u can help me plz do ty for listening.
it was just fine when i bought but 2 days later a buddy noticed that it was overloading. so we have tried to find out whats wrong but nobody around here is a big camaro fan like me so they don't know anythang about them. i thought about putting a rush on my taxes and taling it to a shop but don't want to find out its a 50 dollar part and i end up spending 200 hundred to get it fixed when i can do it. just give some ideas so i can try to narrow it down thx for the input
I think you mean TPS. Throttle position sensor.

Mine did the same thing two days ago. Hard to start and loading. It was the tps.
EDIT: It did this the day after I washed the engine. Not the first time. I tried to keep from getting it wet - but it did get wet.

CTS is coolant temp sensor. If its reading wrong it could be dumping in more fuel than needed. The colder of the temp the more fuel the motor takes to run. So if its reading colder than it really is when the motor is warm it will cause it to run rich. You need to get your hands on a scanner so you can see whats going on.
