Both aftermarket rears would be strong, 9" being stronger. But you have a 355, and assuming you keep your word to all out N/A buying a 9" would be overkill. Also the 12 bolt is more efficient I belive the # is 3% And its ##lbs lighter. So all that adds up to more power to the wheels and a slightly lighter car for more speed

FORGET the NINEinch. all you have to do is go to the track and look under a stock eliminator car(NHRA) you will see every chevy there has a 12 bolt , and them guys are runnin cosistent 10 second and loww eleven second runs on factory 12 bolts. The nine inch is a very strong rear maybee stronger than the 12 bolt but with a 12 second car you are not going to breaK A MOSIER 12 BOLT , NOT TO MENTION THE NINE INCH IS NOT AS EFFICIENT AS A 12 BOLT. the nine inch actually robs horsepower due to its pinion location. The 12 bolt is the most efficient and strong rear you can get for your camaro. If you have the time a 12 bolt out or a 71 buick skylark is the right width for your car you just need to weld on you brackets and a mount for the torque arm. I did it with mine and it works great.
