V6 Prefrence
My girlfriend want's a V-6 mustang. I have no problem with this, I love the new mustang's. She doesn't want or need a v-8 (to be honest, as stated above, I think she's "scared" of it.) The insurance is MUCH cheaper, the price is usually several thousand less than the base V-8 (or you can get a loaded six car for a base v-8 price) and using the mustang's as a reference, they get several mpg better than a v-8. Cheaper cost, better fuel economy, cheaper insurance, why WOULDN'T GM want a V-6? I think that's ludacris to even think you shouldn't offer a V-6 as an option. You can't deny the popularity of the V-6.
The V-8 will always be there for the real enthusiests (hopefully!)
As far as which is better, that's for the general to decide. For the people who mention the simplicity of the motor to work on, you can basically throw that out the window, aside from a few enthusiests left out there (like us) hardly anybody does anything to their car anymore aside from a few bolt ons and oil changes. Most people are so afraid of all the electonics and voiding warranties to even think about working on the internals of a motor. Not only that, but these are GM's, they shouldn't need engine work for 200K+

I'd buy a V6 camaro again
Seriously if the V8 is 6.2L and 400+ HP I wouldnt want it for my daily drive!
I bet they will put in the 3.9L for cost purposes, mine would be 5/6 speed and with whatever appearance/performance additions (Y87?)

Honestly I dont think it makes a difference V6 or V8 in the base. Just as long as it does what you want it to. Id want whatever performed better for what I could afford.
I had both 69 2bbl 350 and my 98 3.8 V6 were base models. In the case of the 69 just a step up from the inline 6. If I wasnt worried about keeping the 69 original Id have put a 4bbl on it and had something so Id perfer the V8. Doesnt matter to me though as Ive had two base models. I wont own a 3rd with the looks and no a$$. It will be at least the LS3 or nothing. To massacure the retarted anti-retro quote, if I want another accord V6 Ill buy one
