$6987.50 is currently the price on your site... still would have to come down about 2k before I'd buy.

Use coupon code 500camaroz28 to get $500 off at http://www.hotpart.com.

Asking for 2k less is asking for a bit much. The price is not unreasonable for a complete supercharger system like that.

I will continue to chronicle my build up over at http://www.phantomss.com leading up to SEMA and going beyond. I will also drop notes here as well, but to remain notified about things, just subscribe to my project blog over there so you get solid updates.

This should be fun!

Uh, what about a Z06. Just add DR's or slicks. Will run low 11's without even adding anything.

The pig of a GT500 requires much more to run those times.

You can certainly run high 10's more cheaply in a GT500. I would also argue that the rearend of the Corvette is much closer to the limits at that point than the GT500, which is the argument for safely and repeatedly.

As for the Z06, you are correct about it being easier. I just didn't mention it since the GT500 is over $20,000 cheaper. Not to say it isn't worth it either. I think it is. However, when it comes to drag racing a GT500 is a serious competitor. I think a Magna Charger Camaro SS will also be a great competitor because of the relatively cheap starting price. That is if the rearend proves up to the task. We will see.

what about the regular vette with a z51 package? i know it beat the 09 gt500 in 1/4 mile i dont know about the '10, but adding slick to that should get you damn close to low 11's and right around the same $ as the gt500. even a base model vette should give it a good run. and at under 50k thats not bad.

I am having a Lingenfelter upgrade installed once my car is built. I am at code 3400 with a TPW of 8/17, so I should get a VIN# anytime this week (if all goes well). Car is being sent to LPE from GM for the upgrade.

it will be 570HP (engine) 510 RWHP.

The Camaro is a completely different animal. More refined I would say. It just doesn't feel the same. I have no doubt a 500rwhp Maggie Camaro would be a Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hide type of ride! Would definitely be awesome, just in a different way.
Trying to sell a FORD to a chevy guy? you need to go to fords.com and post there...

this is a CAMARO site...

I don't want a FORD... thanks but no thanks...

Ahh, the Ford vs. Chevy thing is retarded. I used to think like that when I was a teenager too.

In the end you want the best tool for the job. Ford builds a real good car these days.

Again, GT500 rearend with slicks > Corvette rearend with slicks.
