Design likes the slit and the console gauges. That's that. Function is so far down the importance scale for both of them.

I disagree on the gauges. For me, they are functional. Every Camaro I have owned but one has had gauges in that location and they have never been an issue for me. But then maybe I'm just a better driver than you. (j/k)

I wish I would have seen that tv movie. Corvette would have been the best option in my mind.
