people -- I'm begging you -- please trust me -- the picture you see of the back of the black car is not s good picture-- there is a picture that someone took of a 4th gen to prove this in this very thread.......

Someone got close to the car - - stooped real low -- and took a picture -- but the car looks narrow and high. Believe me -- if you liked the concept -- you'll love the production car.

....and before I forget -- Corey is safe -- we haven't dispatched the black Suburbans --

....as you'll recall -- once we pulled the cammo. off the cars, Ed Peper (General Manager of Chevy) invited everyone to try and find the mules and take pictures.

Luckily -- most of Corey's pics were good -- except for the rear shot....which makes the car look tall and narrow......

On second thought, Corey...........

I thought the back was by far the best part of the car.

Hopefully there will be appearance options that allow for a more blacked out appearance on the rear end.
I'm in agreement here.
And personally, I actually LIKE the headlights

We've waited all this time for THAT? I'll wait some more to see what the Pontiac 2 door coupe looks like (V8 RWD). I have always been willing to pay a little more for something that was better thought out.

I have wasted about 6 10 bolt rear ends. 2 or 3 quarter mile passes on stock tires and the weak posi unit starts whining. Sticky tires and nitrous and BAM, you're walking.

People, listen to the man! Has he ever led us astray? I think not. I think the car looks great! I even like the rear shot, even though it's a bad angle. I'm ready to see them hit the streets! GTO Jack, if you've blown up six 10-bolts already, why don't you replace it with a 12-bolt? If you break something because you modded the car, common sense says that the part you broke wasn't strong enough, so you need to replace it with something stronger. Just a thought.

Check mods in sig

I've owned 14 4th gens since 1993. I havent replaced a 10 bolt in the same car 6 times. I usually try to strengthen the 10 bolts with an Eaton Pro Posi unit, TA girdle and solid crush sleeves. 150 shot of juice off the line is a no-no. But even with delay off the line, nitrous is still hard on the drivetrain. With 12 bolts costing $2000 or more, you do what you can to live with the fragile 10 bolt.

100% Agreed. Thanks for posting.

And this stuff about the 10-bolts. Pure baloney to claim they're weak. I'm brutally hard on my cars... and my 99 Formula stood up to three years and 40k miles of my merciless lead foot without a whimper. Gee, a 150 shot and DR's caused problems for GTOJack? Who'da thunk it? ( )

Scott, I hope your guys put a pullied LS9 under the hood with slicks on the back just to see how the rest of the drivetrain holds up.

Heck, there's an idea for a SEMA or even magazine car. Mildly modded LS9 on sticky tires at full weight running on E85 painted green sorta like the Indy500 Z06 Pace Car. I'm sure every car magazine out there would LOVE to get their hands on it.

It would be a perfect comparison to the 800# lighter Challenger DragPack car that the Mopar folks are working on.

I know that Coletti is gone from SVT, but that doesn't mean the Cobra is sitting still. I wonder what kind of toys SVT and Shelby will have out by the time the Camaro hits production?

Exactly! I've seen people brutalize a few 10-bolts with stock or better than stock tires and have no problems. I worked at a race shop for 6+ years, so I've seen it all. I never saw anyone bring in pieces of a 10-bolt because they grenaded it due to mild mods and stock tires. Just my 2 cents.

Too bad GM cheaped out on the 4th gen and didn't have a Borg Warner "Aussie" 9 bolt, like my IROC-Z.
