Mid 13's, I can snap off high 13 1/4 mile times in my GT on a warm day (matter of fact 13.89 at a weight 3884 lbs @ 80+ degrees), stuck my average weight buddy in my car (also way better driver) and he clicked of a 13.64 pass.

Will GM address the rear wheel hop that could show up in the new Camaro with IRS? Or will they let the aftermarket take care of it like the GTO and CTS-V? GM still considers track use as abuse.

I saw a TopGear episode where they really hammer on the VXR8 (Vauxhall version of the G8; Zeta platform), and I didn't detect any wheel hop, nor did Clarkson say anything about it (and you know he would). So don't think I'm worried about that in the Camaro.

Time will definetly depend on many factors including weight and gear. My guess is 3.43 gears with 400-420 hp; looking at 13.1 in the 1/4 at 110-112 mph, 0-60 will in theory break 5--prob around 4.9. Now top speed??? That could be interesting; maybe 160 on base??

Actually, there is a new engine: 2009 LS9 6.2L V8 Supercharged. And it said to be 620 hp and 595 ft. lbs. of torque, compression ratio is 9.1:1, Bore x Stoke is 103.25 mm x 92 mm. The 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 Supercharged has one. I went to the 2008 Chicago Auto Show and took some pics. why not the Camaro???

Because that engine is in a limited run $100,000 Corvette. And do you really want a $90,000 Camaro?

Chevy will never never never make the camaro faster or more powerful then the ZR vette; they never have and never will; that will kill vette sales or drive the price up on the camaro and make it less affordable. But dont be alarmed, the camaro will be fast and powerful enough (plus have a back seat) to keep up close enough to its big brother.

I'm not saying that the camaro will be more powerful than the corvette, i'm just saying why don't they have the same engine as the vette!!!

Although mid to high-12s would be sweet, I think it will be closer to high-12s to low-13s, just a little quicker than the 4th Gens. stock. Most everyone knows they were making more like 350 horsepower bone-stock, so I suspect the F5 will come out with near 400 horse and since it will possibly weigh a little more, I suspect it will be an improvement over the F4. I'm hoping there is at least an LS8 in the future though...
