So I went to Ford last night....
Like I have stated in the past, the new top end Camaro will likely have the G8 GT LS2 or LS3 shared engine. If tuned and displaced like the G8, it will put the counterpart Mustang in it's place upon acceleration. The G8 torques very strong for 1/2 of a 1/4 mile.... that's all it takes to take the lead!!!!!
With this said, the new 4 door G8 can take an 8 Mustang any day.
Mustang Peeps, don't take my word, go test drive the G8 GT and you will be trading in your Mustang for it!!!
By the way, there is this bald headed tall white freak that has a 4th Gen Mach Mustang that constantly visits my next door neighbor. I'm sure he is pissed always seeing me fiddling around in my 4th Gen Trans Am and washing it! He is just a snot nose Stang owner who I like to lay to waste with either one of my TAs. Some vehicle owners are just so Snotty because of what they drive.

i test drove the G8 GT, i liked it. It drove ok. The rear control arms look a little thin, not sure if there will be flex out back (wheel hop), i didnt get to pin it.
A new regular GT is basically equal to it in terms of performance, which would be about a notch below an LS1 powered fbody.

I traded my 01 z28 m6 for a charger RT 2 years ago. Last year I sold the charger as I would be traveling and wanted awd + gas milage. I was going to wait for the challenger or the Camaro. Since I get supplier pricing from all there mfg's, I decided to stop in and drive a 08 Alloy Mustang GT premium with a m5, limited slip, comfort package....and a few other options. I ended up buying it. I absolutely love it. I love the interior. I love the way it shifts. Its a great package.
After seeing current mustang prices, I am guessing the base v8 Camaro wont come in very much under 30k if it makes it at all unless its the equivilant of the GT delux. With x plan I paid almost 27k on a MSRP of 31k. Edumunds shows that tru value that most people are paying is 29500. So I am thinking an equivilant camaro would be in the 32k to 33k MSRP area.
