Re: I think this is funny..

In a few years, it might be a possibility. The LS7 will probably be passed in favor of something else for the vette.

Don't worry if you got the green you will be able to get a 427 in one from someone like GMMG or SLP for sure

Maybe with some mods. But the Viper has a curb weight of 3400 lbs and a nice aerodynamic - not to mention a set of 345s for rubber in the rear.

Dodge's V10 is a torque monster, even compared to the LS7.

The top dog Camaro won't take a Viper. Although, it won't be a push over race either.

Look at it this way: Get a 35k SS Camaro with an LS7. Put on 3k in mods: Longtubes, intake and a cam which pushes the hp/tq into the 600 range. Then the stock Viper has something to worry about. Not bad for a 38k total investment, as compared to the 85k Viper.

I tell you what is funny one of my local club boys has a 69 stret legal camaro running a 350 small block that out runs any new Viper in the 1/8 mile here by a full second every weekend. he turns average a 6.18 in the 1/8th and drives the car on the streets of Greensboro

No way will an LS7 Camaro come in under 40k (at the very least, I would expect around 50k), 35k is not reasonable

Theres no way.. The Viper might be beat by the current Z06, but theres no way they aren't going to change that and compete again. The Camaro would have to cost way too much and be too close to Z06 range for that to work... And how much better can these cars continue to become?
