I think they did a great job. Its pretty clever... funny.. and I think does a fine job of portraying the Camaro's potential

A long-standing favorite past-time of beer-drinking buddies everywhere is coming up with absurd movie and commercial plots. With the unfortunate exception of The Love Guru, none of these ill-conceived scripts have ever made it past the six pack and into the harsh, unforgiving light of reality. That is, until now. General Motors has just dropped the longest of its Super Bowl commercials for the Chevrolet Camaro, and thanks to the hilarious navigation and off-the-wall sequence of events, the clip is an absolute winner. The one-minute commercial covers nearly all of the bases without breaking a sweat.

There are beautiful women blasting through the open desert, hay bales, helicopter chases, mirrors and death-defying feats. In fact, this ad is one explosion away from being the next Michael Bay Transformers flick. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

That was a GREAT commercial.

Even the new ZR1 commercial is cool.

It was a commercial for people who already like the car enough to want to make a commercial for the car???

Seems kinda like preaching to the choir to me... Marketing to people who already want the car.

Maybe its me, but watching the commercial makes me uncomfortable. Not only is it marketed to the choir, it seems to be poking fun at what must be the tons of suggestions(mine included) GM is getting to market the Camaro. Makes me regret offering a suggestion.

 

It just seemed too tame.

I would have liked to see a commercial done in the same vein as A Boy's Dream.
B*lls out driving, whacking the competition (Mustang, Challenger, imports), smoking tires, lots of sideways action, views of the clutch-brake-gas-shifter interactions, some REAL speeds on the street.

 

Boys don't dream of Camaros... they dream of ZR1 "rockets".

Its only when we become men and we realize that we can't afford a ZR1 that we settle on Camaros.

I actually thought the commercial was top notch.

they had a little clip of squealing tires? lol
you must also remember...
They are trying to appeal to a wide audience.. not everyone may not want all smoke and squealing..
certainly i dont mind... just saying...but nonetheless
I enjoyed the idea.. thought it was pretty funny.

 

Dont forget GM pulled A Boys Dream shortly after it aired due to pressure from groups opposing the agressive driving in it.....

They Build Rockets and these new commercials are steps back in the right direction IMHO.

 

Agreed. Too bad GM lacks the ***** to produce, release and keep on the air such a commercial...
