1 question.

How was it a big mistake for gm to show the concept in jan of 06, when weather or not GM was going to produce this car was directly based upon the public's reaction?

I mean come on, the car wasnt a go for production until Mid AUGUST of 06. The car was shown in Jan 06 as a concept..

yes, it may seem like forever, but once the final product is out, all of us will look back and say remember how we thought it was such a long time, now we're so glad they did take their time and give us this awesome car..

thats my thoughts anyways.

That Chrysler toad you bought has the lines of a brick. Of all the cars you could have purchased after giving up on the new Camaro, why a 300C? I, on the other hand, am going to buy an 07 Monte Carlo SS with 3000 miles and $11,000 under original sticker. I'll have something different to drive this year, and IF the new Camaro is a must have, the Monte has already taken a major depreciation bite and I probably won't loose too much in the year I owned it.

I don't understand the compulsion of people to announce they're not buying the car.

You felt like an addict coming to this site six or seven times a day?

If I only get on here six or seven times a day, I feel like I'm slacking.

Bravo I agree 100%
I don't see the point to post that your not going to buy the car. That's fine. I can only think it's done for attention or to someohow cause a debate or get people here to beg them to reconsider. This post seems to be a long winded complaint supported by their opinion. We can't change that and would it really matter if we did.

You either like the car or you don't, buy it or won't. Opinions about the Camaro have no impact on it pro or con.

Thats funny thats what I call my car "The Brick" but he runs and guess what I didn't give it up for a 300c I didn't drive it enough and it was just wasting away I figured why not let somebody else enjoy the car and actually I bought a Cadillac STS with the money I got from my Z28 ...and the STS was a money pit...the notorious head gasket problem the notorious 3 to 5 thousand dollar head gasket problem....And like it or not outside of the corvette gm currently doesn't make anything to hang with the brick. By the way I hate I got rid of my 93 z.

It's the same compulsion to announce that they are buying the car, and listing options. It's called passion, and my passion has led to a broken heart, I can do that. Thats what forums are for right?

isn't this white camaro the V6 preproduction version, meaning that the V8 models are pretty much going to look different?

The concept, which was already given an ok for production, debuted in 04. So while Ford got its pony car from concept to market in a year, it had in reality been working on it for much longer than that. On top of that, sales numbers couldnt have been compiled for the S197 Mustang until later in 2005. Id say 3 years from a concept that may or may not reach production, to havig the car rolling off the line is pretty damn good.
I apologize. You are absolutely correct. I was thinking the new body style debuted in 04 when in fact it was late 04/early 05. I wasn't trying to say that Ford got there concept to market in one year and Chevy should have been able to do the same. Ford was in a completely different situation. My numbers were completly off. Sorry again.

The 05 mustang's concept was created AFTER the production car was already finalized.

And also the car was also delayed many times (it was originally a 2003.5) car then 04, then 05.
But no one saw the car, therefore it seemed like it was a very quick procedure.

GM showing the Concept coupe one year, then vert the next, then nothing this year...and lots of spy shots....I can see how people would think its stale.
I laught when I hear someone say its ready for a MidCycle update already and it's not even out yet.

Timing/Perception is EVERYTHING
