Someone posted two articles intending to demonstrate that C&D doesn't like the Camaro. I replied that those two articles show that they just like to poke fun at Camaro owner stereotypes, but that neither said anything particularly negative about the car itself.

Your point was that they are pro-Ford, which would require separate evidence.

I didn't read the article but I imagine the reason all the Mustangs in the reviews, including this one, have the Track Pack is that they are provided by Ford and why wouldn't they want to showcase a very affordable option that makes a night and day difference in the car? If I bought a Mustang there is absolutely zero way I would buy it without the Track Pack.

At any rate, both cars are good... I agree with Bob Cosby that the Camaro should have significantly more drivetrain points than Mustang. That category was pretty laughable really. Not that the 4.6L 3V is terrible, but when you look at power and fuel economy I think the answer is pretty clear. Next year who knows.

But as stated the Mustang has a much nicer interior than the Camaro now. That is just a fact. I doubt the Track Pack Stangs ride or handle as well on rough roads as the Camaro, but they can out-turn them on a smooth one. It will come down to your personal priorities.

Maybe GM will update the interior in a few model years to make it nicer. Maybe they will offer their own affordable Track Pack option. Who knows.

As far as bias goes, I wouldn't say C&D is pro-Ford. It would be easier to make a case that they are BMW groupies, but I am not one that is convinced of a real bias there either. It just happens that BMW makes the cars that usually have the proportion of power, handling, and usability that C&D likes. I will concede however that their rating system is a bit convoluted and leads to goofy results. I do think their is a huge subjective component, but you aren't going to get rid of that in any review. And I doubt any of you guys would buy a car purely on objective data.

Have to agree with Charlie on this one. In fact, I believe it was C&D that really lamented the Camaro's demise and vehimently supported the car's place at Chevy in 2002. They also scoffed at the SSR coming out around the same time, saying something to the effect of "GM killed the Camaro for this?"

We all know C&D loves their Hondas and BMWs, but I don't see the hatred of Camaro that some of you seem to see.

Yeah I didn't understand the drivetrain ranking either. You'd think the LS3 mated to a 6-speed would far out-trump the 4.6/5-speed combo. They did prefer the sound of the 4.6 though...

Agreed. Honda and BMW are favorites at C&D for sure.

I remember a review of the early (supercharged) Cobalt SS, when they were reviewing it in the context of a replacement for the Z28. The general tone of the article was that we want a sporty, manually, shifted coupe from Chevrolet, and this is what they're giving us. It's not up to par performance wise, but it'll do for now.

On a side note I think C&D is just pro import. It always seems that when I pick up the magazine that they are ranting and raving about every style of car and how much better the Japanese and European counterpart are. Sure we have seen some good ratings for some of the things we like, but I get tired of magazines like this telling me how great the Toyota Camry and VW GTI are. Anyone agree?

I'm sorry if you think the camaro interior is cheesy,please the mustang interior looks like factory direct from Kmart. As was mentioned here,the seats in the mustang suck. I will say the 2010 GT500 stepped up and improved the entire vehicle. Yes the GT mustang performs well. Who cares? It's a mustang. When was the last time you talked about a factory stock CAMARO that looks and performs like this? I'm sorry. I'm not biased at all and there is no comparison. Under 5k in mostly bolt on's and this LS3 will roll right with the GT500. For $$$ less.

And in conclusion,guionM hits the nail on the head. Now I've caught up on this thread. I'll add, bells and whistles will attract. But how your *** feels behind the wheel makes an even bigger impact. I do agree the,"blind spots" hurt the camaro. But I've sat in both and asses are subjective. Every one has it's own,"taste" Mine prefers the chevy. And my subjective unbiased taste also feels the mustang interior is far cheesy er then the camaro. Again in close,I couldn't give a brown coil about navigation. That is what all that long hair riding shot gun is for. Make herself useful and read the damn atlas.

Along with the majority of other people. Again, it would not stop me from buying the car, but I expected a lot more.

There was a time I considered replacing or Camaro SS convertible with an SSR. I asked over on the SSR forums if anyone had made that migration. The preference for the SSR was unanimous.
