That's fine.

My point? You can bet your last dollar that Cheryl and Tom and Ed and Gene and Doug and John and myself and a whole lot of other people have put their everything into this car......and some of us LIVE for Camaro. I mean that -- we LIVE for it.

If you think for one moment we're gonna water this car down to where it's 'second best' or a mild version of what you saw unveiled on January 9th, 2006 -- you live in a fantasy land.

Have some of you forgotten that we had the "12 disciples of which there are 15" to Milford to drive the concept and then talk to them hours upon hours about this car? Do you REALLY believe they're gonna let us water down this car? Do you REALLY?????????

You can go on and on about what the picture MAKES you think.....but trust me -- you're gonna be blown away (in a good way) when you see the final product.

PERIOD.

End of story.
Damn fine way to put a dagger through the heart of this hopelessly inane thread. Thank you.

That picture of the Silver Concept is misleading - the 'hips' aren't as big as the picture shows them.....and dear GOD -- please -- the white car is NOT showing you a finished product.

I agree, Scott. Though we're all(well, most of us) ecstatic when you post, you keep saying yourself that there are those you know you won't be able to please...guess what. They're not all on the Mustang boards.

Be Cool. Let the Camaros redline, not you.

enough of the second guessing.. and to more important questions!

What's the top model going to be? Z28, SS, RS/SS, ZL1? When? And will it ever have hide-away lights?

Okay everyone, since Scott feels it has come to be a point where it is time to put things in a manner that is cut and dried and no way to read between the lines, I will add my own words as a follow-up in the same manner. This is it, it doesn't get any clearer than this.

First, consider a few things...

1) I live in the Detroit area.
2) I am one of the 12 (15) disciples.
3) I am the co-founder of the longest running and largest all-Camaro community online, and I am known for being to be very dedicated and exceptionally trustworthy as well as a straight shooter with my comments of this nature.

Having said that, let me make something as clear as I can. This production car will be VERY similar to the concept as stated many times before. What you see as far as the recent leaked pictures is nothing anyone should to use for plsu or minus comparison to the concept, purchasing decisions, or otherwise. If you choose not to believe me, that's fine but I know what I know and I myself wouldn't want to post any any words that I will wind up eating later on. Some of you already have, unfortunately.

There you have it, take it or leave it. I myself expect to be a very happy Camaro enthusiast in a little over a year or so.

I can't believe GM has screwed us like this...

I mean really, what were they thinking?

Not releasing pics of mule that wasn't identical to a concept car. Not producing a production car that's wider than a Lamborghini and shorter than a Miata...

What nerve... :shakes fist:

oh, so you are too busy to be one today??

honestly thought, I too am very excited about this car...even though I may not be able to afford one when they come out, but probably a year or two later. There are so many different things that I like about it and hope they put into production from the "hips", tail lights, and even that indention going down the middle of the roof. Every time something new comes up about it I get excited and tell everyone...they get pretty annoyed with me about it.

I've reserved my own comments about this, but since Scott hath wrought hell and damnation itself to those who doubt, I shall proceed.....

Was anyone here in Boy Scouts? If you were, then you may have participated in a Pinewood Derby or two (I still have all my cars). You scribbled out what you wanted your car to look like before you even started carving and cutting. Do you remember what your car looked like half way through? Well, THAT'S the white prototype. You know the car you brought to the derby? THAT'S the silver concept if you have faith in Scott.

I have faith, and I also happen to know a few things about product development (not cars perse, but nonetheless I think I have an idea about what goes on). I think what Scott is trying to say is that the end result will look like that silver 'beaute that was at last year's auto show. But that was just a concept, and since it is a concept it can be made however anyone wants it to be made because there is no viable application as a stree legal motor vehicle. It's a model kit.

In order to turn that model kit into a working, legal, fully functioning, RELIABLE vehicle, you have to go through a development process where it may turn into something that isn't quite exactly what you expected. Notice I said DURING THE PROCESS. There is a PROCESS products must go through when transforming from someone's idea on paper to something you can title and drive for 200,000 miles. That does not in any way mean that the end result will not be anything like the beginning concept.

That white car is still in development, and I thought it was rather plain to see in that it looks like that thing isn't very functional. It is but one step of many in transforming the basis of a new product into what you want it to look like.

I have every ounce of faith the final product will look just like the concept. And when it does, I'll be laughing at some of you.

So go ahead, it seems as though some of you are already convinced in your head that the white car is the final product.

Remember, it's just a step in the process.
