I believe it is already on the fast track. GM has a golden opportunity for a 40th anniversary that I don't think they'll miss.

I think we'll be able to thank the people behind the scenes for this - doing everything they can to expedite the project process. They are people who are experienced and who know what the program managers are going to be looking for, thus anticipating managements' requests. They did just that with the concept, making it production ready. I believe they're doing the same thing right now.
I don't know about July, but I'd lay money on the 2007 calander year.

The car's on a fast track, and I don't think anyone is fooled by the "decision hasn't been made yet" disclaimers. However, it was a substandard part from a OEM manufacturer that delayed the Solstice a number of months, and the C5 and C6 had some issues that could have delayed things.

As soon as word that the go ahead has been given on redoing the plant comes out, I think we'll have a better idea.

Wilmington you say, hmm? RWD assembly plant + Zeta components + some Kappa components (for economies of scale) = could be. And for the record, I don't think Red ever retracted his X-mas '07 winky, that's where I'd put my money.

OT: Chrysler are confident of introducing the Challenger in 2007 as a 2008 model... well ahead of Camaro.

I have no reason to doubt Chrysler's tact in releasing cars soon after their unveiling at car shows.

Fod put the Ford GT together in 15 months from the Detroit show to production. I can't imagine GM would not want the Camaro on the streets as quickly as possible. If GM can pull it of in 15-20 months we have a 2008 MY Camaro.

So the latest winkie club guestimate is MY 2008, up from previous guestimates of MY2009.

I hope GM can pull it off right.

I said I was gonna get out of debt, try to pay off the house (a part of debt, I know), and never buy a new car but this is gonna throw a wrench in all that, lol.

If the question that GM has is whether or not they can sell 150,000 units, I'll take one...that leaves just 149,999 to go!

Let's go, GM...Bring it on!!

I'm gonna have to throw extra commission checks towards my debt. Or pick up an 02 SS after they drop in value as soon as the new Camaro's are on the lots, LOL.
