Camaro Concept Taillights
Re: Camaro Concept Taillights
For the record, the 1967 tail lights weren't EXACTLY all on piece either. They were removable as one piece but aesthetically had a divider. They were kind of the middle ground for what was on the concept car and what was in the early concept car pics:

Doesn't matter to me either way I'm buying it. I do hope the "afterburner" look makes it as it just gives more of a fighter plane feel to it. Saab...born from jets...No, no, no, Camaro...born from jets!
Re: Camaro Concept Taillights
I wasn't crazy about the tail lights or rear end of it when I first saw it.
However after seeing it in person, I love it... pictures don't do it justice, looks so much better in person!
I really would like to see the afterburner style make production too, that would be great!

They're one piece on my 67 RS.

The glass lenses are separate though on the 68 standard models, they just sit in a single housing.
However, the original Camaro concept (which was called the Panther) had twin round tail lights on each side.
I now actually like the tail lights the way they are.

Don't forget the concept is modelled after the 1969!
So we're missing a divider.
First year (67) had one piece
Second year (68) had two piece
Third year (69) had three piece.
Where the **** is the three pieces?!?!

FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!!!! "modeled after" or "used as the inspiration for" does not mean that the concept has to mimic every single design feature of the 69!!!!! It has many OBVIOUS design cues that pay homage to the 69 but it is not a carbon copy and who would want it to be?! It is its own unique and quite modern car with some heritage design cues. It's a magnificent combination. That grill is aggressive as hell and the afterburner tail is awesome. So what if it doesn't draw DIRECTLY from 69 tails?! Look at the tails without comparing to everything else, THEY LOOK AWESOME, and they are UNIQUE. They don't, to me, look exactly like anything else out there. Good grief let's have some things that set this car apart!!!!
My God, please don't tell me I'm feeling the frustration of PacerX! AAAHHHHH!
Re: Camaro Concept Taillights
Chill dude. Chiiiilll.
My 3 divider response was in response to the guy saying the current taillights mimic the double split design of the other taillights... it was more of a joke than anything
sheesh callllmmm yourself. back away from the internets!!

I'm going to find my picture of the Panther and scan it to show you guys quad lights on a first gen Camaro. (It looks awesome IMO.)
