Personally, I would just be happy if they got rid of cranky people.

For those of us that not only lived, but drove through the original muscle car period this 5 Generation has the follow:
Cadillac STS front end
Chevrolet Impala rear end
Roof line of a 2005 Mustang
Wake me up when GM shows some real ***** instead of the BB sized ones they are carefully carrying around in their hands.
Put the R&T version from 2004 on the show room floor, put minimum 425 hp, bring out an SS version that plants an old mans *** to the back of the seat and maybe, just maybe this old school, old timer will saunter to the dealer for a look see and rip *** test run.
Piece, out my 55 year old brothers of the tire shredding era.

So is your complaint that its pulling from non camaro cars? That its retro, not retro enough, or that it doesnt capture the effect of previous Camaros?

Re: 5th Generation retread
I'm very sorry to say that I, too, am a geezer (54 and counting, so I was also there when the sixties happened. Matter of fact, I wouldn't trade living the years I've lived and being a geezer, for the opportunity to be 30 years younger today, but miss the 60s and 70s, but I digress). I agree with your list below wholeheartedly and got a good chuckle out of it.
But, on the subject of the 5th gen, you are on your own, dude. This geezer loves it. It is everything I've been lamenting the loss of for the past 30 years. The 5th gen is the bizitchinest vehicle I've ever laid eyes on and I'm counting the days until I can put cash for the whole thing down to secure my spot at the front of the line!
We finally get a car from Detroit that is actually drawing attention across the board, and you don't like it???? I am an engineer at a large computer company; when bonuses come out every year in March, the parking lot fills up with expensive foreign cars (yeah, me too, I drive BMWs these days), but this car has generated BUZZ, even among the rice set. This thing could be a hit of enormous proportions
I'm just curious, what exactly would you rather have seen?
Doug

Hey Doug- I guess I'm working my way toward geezerdom fast at 42, and I couldn't agree more with your comments. The concept is causing a lot of buzz from the high school set to us. As I've said before, that thing stirs up more automotive passion in me than I've had in years. I just wish I could order today!

Doug ask me "what I would rather like to see"? As I said in my first post. When R&T came out in 2004 with the possible concept I said finally somebody named John Wayne took hold of 'dem GM boys and put up a modern/retro/in your friggin' face/muscle car. What turned up in 2006 was ---- a car.
