1:6 scale 5th Gen R/C car
Is this simply plug and play, or is soldering required?(it looks to be mainly plug and play type connections)
How hard would this be for people with little to no experience in this stuff?
Are there any other options to make the car go faster? Can we just swap in a better motor? Or is what you listed needed in order to be able to make it faster?
I don't think I want to spend that much but maybe I can cut down the cost by looking at the classifieds? Especially for a controller.
Wasnt sure if I should just post this here, so I posted on the RC site aswell:http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_65..._2/key_/tm.htm
Oh, and any videos of it in action?

Anyone have an extra Red one? I showed mine to a friend and he wants one for his wife. I bought one of each so I'm not interested in another silver one. We've called every local Walmart and they are out of them. I'm considering selling him mine if I can find a replacement. Please let me know if you have one your willing to part with and how much you want for it. Email me at: todd@hotrodsigns.net Thanks!

I would not say they are slow but on carpet its hard to get traction. The tires are so hard they don't grip very well. What I really don't like is the steering. It's either full turn of no turn. Thats why I'm planning to upgrade one of mine with a better radio like Embpic did. I hope to purchase a new radio and ESC next week.
tires will be the next thing we/someone needs to check into. some actual rubber ones or even foam ones would be better. Im away form mine right now and didnt think to check when I was home but can you split the wheel from the tire?
It definitely isn't slow. I was doing donuts with it in our court over Christmas. It ends up my chocolate lab loves chasing it. It now has a few scrapes from where he body slammed it into the curb while he was trying to catch it.
The tires don't have much traction. When I accelerate I have to do it slowly. You can be doing 15 mph and floor it and the rear tires will spin right up and the car will spin out.
On the other hand it makes for doing tricks easier. I have nearly mastered doing a high speed 360.
One of the things I didn't like about the original radio setup was that when you release the throttle the motor immediately locks up the rear wheels. With my setup the car just coasts at neutral throttle.

I was told why the price drop, Jada toys which makes it was hit hard by the toy recall & so instead of losing a boat load of money they told the companies to get rid of the car so walmart dropped the price.
Still have no clue if the car will be reproduced with better paint.
