AI200cc stock bottom end dyno results, 429rwhp with a miss
First a rundown of the car
97 Z28, 6-speed with 3.73's
stock 100k mile bottom end
stock waterpump
unported intake manifold
AI 200cc heads
AI custom cam < 230 degrees
Jethot longtubes
3" true duals with spiral flow mufflers
lingenfelter CAI
Descreened stock MAF
58mm tb
I also did 438 and 439rwhp on 2 runs but they said that was caused by a spike from the miss up top.
I'm also getting a miss you can see on the graph. My tuner and the shop thinks the stock ignition system can't handle the cylinder pressure since it's happening at peak torque. It also runs perfectly smooth at part throttle, and the opti has an msd cap/rotor with less than 1000 miles on it that looks brand new inside. I wouldn't be supprised if I picked up some power/torque with the ignition issue sorted out. I also had the highest dynoing stock bottom end LT1 they have seen Anyway here is the graph...
Hopefully I'll have the ignition issue sorted out when the track opens up next year.
:edit: video added. I'm guessing my shortlbock has seen better days with all the oil smoke

you have 22 less rwhp and 19 more rwtq than mine.
Should run 10`s
very nice numbers

Good results so far. Get that thing fixed and hit the dyno again. What rpm were you pulling too?

~6500-6600. I don't plan on hitting the dyno again once its fixed since I'm not hung up on dyno #'s. Trap speed shows the true power.

10 bolt + nitto's + 6-speed = high 11's

You're gonna need a retune thats why I said hit the dyno. If it was missing that bad your A/F is gonna be off when its fixed.

Awesome numbers Rob, wish I would have gotten to dyno my car with the 10 bolt, probably would have been 410-420.

I dynoed 375 through my 12-bolt and 6-speed, but it didnt run as fast as your car. You dynoing the same as me with more drivetrain loss just proves that your motor is making more power, hence the better times. Plus you probably have stupid high torque numbers through the auto and gears.

Imho my dyno numbers are laughable...Both for rwhp and rwtq...My numbers were through an A4 with a Vig 3600 and a 12 bolt with 3.73s...I'd love to see them now with 4.10s and a Vig 4000. Mine was also on a Mustang dyno which usually reads lower than a dyno jet...I've tweaked a few things for next year (Vig 4000 and Spohn drag bar) hoping for 10.9999 with 375 rwhp...But the OPs numbers are fantastic...Hopefully he'll get it sorted out and run it at the track to see what it traps....I'm really hoping that his is not another case of a "happy" dyno because I've seen great things come out of Ai's stuff...

Maybe colder plugs could be the ticket to curbing the ignition woes.
Those are solid #'s!
