From factory performance to heads/cam wise there's been nothing special about the GT's since the 1980's.
Nice hole shot...

You want to see what those cars are about so...so you race one while you have a converter, tires, a few other bolt ons and the other guy has what, an exhaust on stock tires.
My wife's stock 06 GT would spank my 96 Z28 if it were stock....

Hey Canton, from what I have seen they are mid 13 cars. I thought it would be a real close race, with me ahead at first and him reeling me in.
We did 2 runs, they both came out the same way, but the first race the camera man was all the way zoomed in so I didnt put that vid up. But in that race we started at the same time and I put maybe 4 cars on him.
So on the 2nd run, I knew I had better traction then he did ( his was not that bad, just spun till about 10-15 mph and it wasnt lke he lit the tires up in smoke, more of just a scratch ) so after "go" I let him get out to my front bumper before I started, then I didnt go WOT till just after 20 mph.
From what I gathered there 1st and 2nd gear are not the strongest from the factory, need gears im guessing.
P.S. Canton, I know they are faster stock to stock.

Basically, what I meant by that was, I havent ran into one since they came out and I wanted to see where I was in the food chain.
No harm done

I doubt an 06 GT will spank a 96 Z28 stock for stock. It would be very close if not almost dead even, especially depending on how good the Camaro is from the factory.

I think some people have forgotten how comparatively slow they were stock. I mean, a 100-101 mph car is still quick but most of you have been modded for such a long time that stock would surprise you. What was once quick, and a leap ahead of the 3rd gen cars, is now just average. I mean, my Mom's Hyundai Azera can trap 99-100.
I've seen plenty of 98-99 mph LT1s, as I have seen 100-101 mph LS1s. I've seen 'em faster (stock) too, but you're just as likely to have a "faster" car as a "slower" car, both in equally good mechanical condition.

My wife's 06 GT 5 speed is easy mid 13's...if not a tad quicker.
That is faster than my 14.0@99 mph LT1.

I dont think it was meant in a disconcerning way. I think camzaro28 has got a nicely modded street car that he loves to race against all cars. Heck, he even gives us some pretty good video too. Ive seen him post videos of whooping and getting whooped by cars other than Stangs.
Snakeskinners observation is what I point out as WRONG!
I dont even want to get into it, but the 99-04 GTs were a great run for the LT1. The 05+ GT is very comparable to my 04 Mach 1 and it ran 13.30s all day long stock. My previous LT1s were right around what Cantons times were.
By the way...
Great run to camzaro28 and please...please can you find someone who has the green night shot on their camera to use?
I have a sony that has that feature built in and when you switch it on...holy **** its like freakin daytime.
Anyway, keep the kills comin dude.

Let's hope it faster. I mean the LT1 is like 15 year old technology. And if ferd couldnt build something that can beat a 10+ year old car, then I would say they have problems.

Nice kill, held up nicely to a much newer car, with an exhaust. Keep the kills coming, I like reading about them.

Your wifes fat ass mustang GT will not make below a 13.7 in the 1/4 and Ive seen plenty of BONE STOCK LT1s hit that #, the majority will not. But when we are talking about a 10th or 2 we are not talking about a "spanking". And just because you ran a 14.0 doesnt mean that someone who can drive will. And I would like to see the time slips of the Mach 1 running a 13.3 all day long. I raped one of those turds from a dead stop by about 4-5 cars. That is not a close race.

I know Canton will speak for himself, but I see you mentioned my Mach in your segment. I have not had the car in quite a while and do not have any of the slips saved up, nor do I feel like I have to prove anything to anyone here. I eat sleep and drink LT1 motors so please do not try to tell me that we are bad drivers because we couldnt get them lower than what we said.
You need to step back and realize that maybe you did "rape" one of those turds..as you so graciously put it, but you are not stock for one. Secondly how do we know ( using your philosophy with our LT1's ) that the Mach driver didnt suck?
See, I can do this all day long.
Now please respond with some useful input to the discussion without a slew of name calling. I know its gonna be hard, but please try
Also,
These guys on this forum know me and wouldnt question my integrity as I and some of the other old timers here were founding members years before you even thought of that witty screen name you have.
Later

How good from what factory? They aren't making them right now.... wtf is wrong with you? GM figured out they were rattle traps and discontinued them.......
