Using Tunercats how do I make a openloop tune?

 

In the constants you have to find where it enables closed loop once you reach a certain coolant temp... just set that value to its max.

Why do you wanna run open loop?

 

I dont want to. Someone gave me a tune a couple of weeks ago and said it was a open loop tune. When I put it in the car and ran data master it showed it was in closed loop so I was like wtf. Then they sent me another tune that said open loop so now I want to use tunercat to review exactly what changes are being made each tune.

 

Well, in Lt1-edit, there are 2 boxes with an IAT temperature range to enable CL, for example if one bax has 40 and the other had 80, then CL will work in that range. In my original tune both these values are set at 151, so it wouldn't go in CL.
I use Autotap to log and although it shows I'm in CL, both short and long term fuel integrators are constant. When I use my CL program these values change.

 

That's what confused me. When I tried out the open loop tune just to see how it runs I noticed when I used the freescan it said I was in closed loop. the Min. Cool. Temp. for closed loop setting in the ECM constants for Tunercats controls open and closed loop basiclly?
