i am having serious problems getting my new motor in the car to run right. it feels like the spark is breaking up really bad. i scanned it and the left bank is lean (small leak at y pipe before O2), and the right is rich. i yanked my plugs (TR6) this evening and they were all fouled. i put some dry autolite 104's in gapped at 0.040" and the car still seems to run funny. the motor is supposed to have a CR of 11:1 and i have a mallory hy-fire VI CD ignition. i gapped the plugs in the stock motor to 0.040" because i spray a 150 shot. should the gap on the higher compression motor be larger and would this cause my problem?

i posted it here so i don't get responses from a bunch of kids saying what they have their factory gap at on their cars. i am not trying to be rude, i have just seen it happen too many times.

Spark plug gap is least of your concerns. Fix your exhaust leak so that your cars PCM can attempt to get a handle on your A/F ratio. Exhaust leaks before an O2 sensor allow oxygen into the exhaust stream causing the PCM to think that bank is lean. Once you have the obivous problems fixed, get to a chassis dyno with a wideband O2 sensor and find out what is going on.

First I agree with Josh on getting the other problems fixed first. As far as plug gap i normally see .035-.040 for a nitrous motor.
And ky94transam, no we love traffic in here. But appropriate traffic and people with attitudes unlike yours.
I would move this for you to LT1 Tech, but you will have to repost your question there now, thanks to ky94transam.

Just to clarify "ky94transam"s gripe, he is pissed because I moved one of his posts from Advanced Tech to LT1 Tech. Here is his Private Message to me:
Fu** you and your attitude! Mr. Injuneer
We are obviously dealing with a very immature individual here, and "corrective action" is being taken........ :D
