tramrailing, will toe in help?

Hi, I have a 99 Z28, revalved bilstein shocks, front swaybar, and t2R.. with 17" SS rims 275/45 Kumho MX's.

My alignment, last it was done was 4.5 degs of caster, -0.5 degs of camber, and 0 toe up front.

smooth roads and tracks, rides and turns and grips like a dream..

but I'm getting kinda sick of the tramrailing on the highway.. especially since the highways around here got worse after the last winter.

Will setting the front with 1/16th toe in help? I'm willing to sacrifice some intial turn in at autox for a more relaxed driving on certain highway sections..

Are you talking about the tires following the road? If so, then yes, a slight toe in should probably help some. It sounds like you're headed in the right direction. I just wouldn't take it very far, since the spec for an f-body is 0.0 to start with, too much & it will feather, and of course less steering response. Of course, with wide tires on a stiff suspension, you're always going to have some. I guess I'm just used to it. I drive a car that doesn't do it and it feels wierd...

I'm bringing this month and a half old post back up because it is basically the same reason why I am in the suspension forum tonight. My Z28 basically drives just like the OP's and even has the same tires...275/45-17 Kumho MX's. I personally have no issue with the tramming but the Z28 has become my girlfriends car since I now have a Z06. The tramming is scary to her and I want to toe it in a hair.

So Anyway, basically I came looking in here to see if any of you suspension experts know how much change in toe occurs per turning of the adjuster? I guess i am looking for something like, "one full turn moves toe 1/16th of an inch on the side" or "one flat equals......."

So can anybody help me here?

thanks,
Hammer
