alignment FAQ?

is there a FAQ somewhere?

one for lowered cars, and one for stock height cars?

the daughter's 93 is wearing out the shoulders.

what would be nice is a usable range, that's what i did last time, just compiled all the posts (including Sam's input) and gave the tech that range, and he hit it best as he could, without taking all day.

as usual, my HP pos crashed and lost that data.

here's what I intend to give the tech this time, got this by searching and cut & post out of threads

Caster - +4.5
Camber - max negative
Toe - slight toe out. Sam's recommedation is 3/32 total toe out

Camber -1.5
Caster +4.5
Toe 1/16th in

-1.5 camber
4.7 caster
0 toe

Camber 1.5*
Caster 4.3*
Toe In 1/16"

Since she doesn't race I'd recommend:

Max negative camber (it won't be much anyway)
4 degrees caster
1/16 toe in

Well i would like to know what people are running for camber.
Many people say to just max it out....im not sure where it puts it tho...
I have the BMR k-member and A-arms, and they allow for a ton of adjustment.
I am supposed to have ~ -1.3 camber, 5.1 caster. but i dont exactly like this.
ITs handles very well, but i have sacraficed alot of straigt line breaking. I guess the way the wheels make contact on the road when the wheels are so far tilted reduce the cotact patch, at least in a striaght line.

is it suppose to be this way? what would be a good balance of handling and braking?

"the daughter's 93 is wearing out the shoulders."

If that's your concern, note that the autocross combination of maxed out negative camber and some toe out, when used for normal driving, will wear the edges faster. Moreso as the load in the car is increased.

A decent alignment guy will know what the problem is by looking at the tires. I believe GM alignment specs are pretty good for even tire wear. In particular, zero toe is a good idea for that.

The question is, is it wearing the inside shoulder or the outside shoulder???
