What weight oil should I use??

Hey everybody,

I have the car in the sig with almost 178,000 miles. I am going to buy Royal Purple oil, but I am not to sure what weight I should get. I usually buy 20W-50 because of the high miles my car has, but is that too thick?? Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Carlos

20W50 is a bit high for a street car. Could go with an XW40 with the miles you have. But if your oil pressure is fine with a 10W30 there is NO reason to not run it.

Well I live in Souther California, where it is real hot.

So a 40 might do it or a 30? I might try a 40 just because of my miles.
