Lately my trip odometer has been getting stuck...if I reset it, it only goes to ~10 miles then stops. Is this an easy fix or do I have to keep a pad and a pen with me? :)

If its anything like the ones on the 3rd gen cars, the plastic gear is broken. And the result is your trip odometer is history.

The odometer assembly is held to the back of the gauge cluster with 3 screws and can be swapped out. When I replaced my 110 mph cluster with a 150 mph cluster I was able to retain my original odometer so there was no discrepancy.

It is also possible to get a replacement odometer and set it to the exact same mileage as your current odometer, then swap it in.

You may want to remove your odometer and inspect it. There may be something stuck in it that you can fix or lubricate.

No confusion. It's all one assembly. The trip odometer and vehicle odometer are all one piece. To replace a broken trip odometer would mean he has to replace the entire assembly. It's easy, really. The hardest part would be getting the gauge cluster out of the car, then it's just 3 screws.

Yup. On the 3rd gen cars it is built into the mechanical speedometer and is driven off the same cable..
The 4th gen is electronic.

look for a place local to you that fixes speedos, they should be able to repair it pretty inexpensively(if you pull the cluster)

When TGO comes back on line, go to the FAQ page (Look for JamesC). The fix for the mechanical trip is detailed there, the cost next to nothing, the time involved 20 minutes or so once the cluster is removed.

Actually the gear isn't broken, the J clip(s) that holds the axel in place has gone south. As I mention the fix is quite simple.
