I have been doing some searching, and have found that the easiest way is going to be to cut the access hole. First off, what are the right tools. I am guessing probably just a dremel and some hand tools. The new pump is a Holley 255, almost identical to the Walbro, but do I need any sort of adapters for this pump to work? Is there anything I am missing? Do I need any sort of new gaskets or other parts? any other good writeups? I checked shoebox's site, I didn't see one on there. TIA!

I'm thinking a dremel would take a while. Do you have access to an air powered die grinder? That and a cut-off wheel would make pretty quick work of it. Don't forget the eye protection as well, when you get a small piece of metal in your eye from using a die grinder it tends to cause irritation, making it look like you've been crying, and people tend to look at you like "what the hell is wrong with that guy?!" <don't ask me how I know>

I have not done it through the access hole, But I have droped the tank out of the bottom. My god, what a pain in the arms. :irk:

I didn't use a Dremel.. I took the wimpy way out and drilled a large hole in two corners and used tin snips to cut it.. HERE'S (http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2995615#post2995615post2995615) my thread with links how to do it.

Just checked in the garage since my GF's dad has all of his tools here. Theres no air powered die grinder, but there is an electric hand held mikita grinder. I am pretty sure that would kick the crap out of the dremel out there, just have to be careful and make sure I measure the cut properly and not get crazy.

I did a full write up seen HERE (http://home.comcast.net/~fastbird/Trans%20Am/Installs/Pump%20Install.htm).

I used a dremel, which didn't take very long at all. Maybe 10 minutes tops, and that was mostly to change cutoff wheels.

What about some sort of harness, like a painless wiring harness. I noticed that there is a kit that from thunder racing that has the pump and the wiring harness. If I have a holley pump, can I just order this harness, or how much work has to be done to adapt the wires to the ones in the tank?

i just did this, and i have some tips. i did the dremel method. took forever cause i kept grinding wheels away and/or breaking them. after that spray the quick releases down with carb cleaner or something. undo everything. i tossed the bucket but i coulda used it if i wanted. i chose to just use two hose clamps of medium size and put it on that way. make sure you get 50PSI or higher fuel/emission hose and make sure your tighten your clamps down very tight. i had 4 hoses come off and/or break on me. now i have no problem other then blowing the **** out of my tranny :(

your pump should come with a connetor with two wires coming off it. just replace the old connector withthat one. use crimp barrels.

What type of glue is used for the pump cup housing?

What type of grease is used for the o-rings?

The racetronix pump I got (pump only, no harness) came with glue for the cup housing and lube for the o-rings. I'm not exactly sure what it was though....
