My question is just as the subject line is asking. Can and how do you figure torque converter slip from dyno numbers? Can you tell if your converter is too loose? Thanks for your help and advice.

Injuneer 09-08-2003, 09:25 AM Have them do a plot with HP on the left vertical axis, MPH on the bottom horizontal axis, and RPM on the right vertical axis. If you know your tire diameter (remember, its on a chassis dyno with straps holding it down and limiting tire growth (another factor to consider), you can convert MPH to axle RPM to driveshaft RPM, and compare it with engine RPM. The difference is slip. If you get the numerical printout for this plot it makes it easier to set up a calculation sheet. Chode89 09-08-2003, 11:15 AM Thanks, that was easy. Now just hope they send the file so i can change the chart. Specially when he shops in your local Barnes & Noble, and when you have actually driven/raced on that "Highway 9" :D | ||
