Strut Tower Brace question

I know, i feel dumb, but i'm having trouble installing mine. I think I might have one for the wrong year maybe or is there just some trick to it? Basically it just doesn't want to fit over the studs, the studs are too close together.

What kind did you get??? If it's a BMR, I think one size fits all for 93-02 (except LT1 SS). I know with my Hotchkis, it took a little persuasion to get it to fit, but it's on there nice and firm. It just took some patience and a little WD-40.

It doesn't just slip right on. I remember I had to play with mine a bit. I think you have to place it over both sets of bolts at the same time not slip it over one side then try to get it over the next. Also, you have to be on level ground. If this doesn't work you might be in trouble.

I picked up the kenny brown 3 point version and it doesn't seem to want to fit any way you look at it. I mean, it's a good 1/2 in off on both sides if i try to center it. I think there's either something something bent on my car or the brace is bent. I dunno anyone have this happen to them. I did have an accident but they did my frame with a laser rack. I'm just so confeused, and well not happy to say the least.

Your wreck could have something to do with it. Was the majority of the damage done to to the front?

yea, my wreck got everything in front of the fenders, but the fenders and hood wern't touched. I was thinking that if I dropped the struts down, put the brace in place and then put the struts back in that it might fit. What do you guys think? I'd have to get an alignment though wouldn't I? I'd really like to have this for my driving course that I'm taking next weekend at MIS.
Al: If that doesn't work, I might just have to take you up on that offer

I wouldn't, either it fits correctly or you have a problem with the brace, your car or both. JMO

For some of the solid braces that's just exactly what the instructions say to do. A bud of mine put a 3 point on his 94 1LE and he dropped the drivers side strut. Put the barce on the passenger side studs then put the drivers side studs up thru the brace.
And no alignmemt should be necessary. The struts aren't really struts. They are coil over shocks in a double a-arm suspension.
