Will propane injection richen up the air/fuel ratio? By how much? Does this mean that you have to pull fuel or add timing in order to burn it all off?

Propane = richer?racr4jc 04-11-2003, 08:05 PM Will propane injection richen up the air/fuel ratio? By how much? Does this mean that you have to pull fuel or add timing in order to burn it all off? 94SLUG 04-11-2003, 08:51 PM I looked at a 95 PowerStroke and it had propane injection as a SHOT. It was called the Bully Dog increased 40 hp and 200tq. Never heard of this on a gas motor. pugs97_30th_Z 04-12-2003, 03:04 PM I am not sure how they control the injection. I would assume you could tune it with different size jets or regulating the pressure that gets to the motor. You are adding fuel so it will make the mixture richer. Propane is also like 118-120 octane. Propane will also be detected by O2 sensors since it is similar to gas in being petroleum based. Alcohol injection on the other hand will not be picked up correctly on a wideband since it is more oxygen rich...it may look like you are running lean when you arent when using Alcohol. You might want to check out the Turbo Buick board or the Sy/Ty board. They are both getting big into propane as of late. I know a guy running it on his Syclone and he seems to like it. Much simpler than Alcohol injection that he used to use because there is no need for a pump. Just a line and solenoid controlled by a hobbs switch or whatever... got_hp? 04-12-2003, 04:45 PM pro-pain kit (http://www.dynamicracing1.com/customer/product.php?productid=186&cat=38&page=1) | ||
