y2k 18x95 in rear HUGE question fast!

Ok, well i finally got my tires mounted on them yesterday... they didnt FIT!!!!!! 275/35/18 nitto555 im sure i got the wrong offset but.. o well.. it BARELY hit the rear side of the tire on a "protector thing" its for when you bottom out it hits that instead of your frame...

well.. im getting wheel adapters... what size to get, and how safe are they???? i was gonna get spacers but heard they are not strong, and the bolts arnt long enough anyway....

plz answer asap.

The 18x9.5" C5 2001/2002 wheels have a 7.75" backspace. It may be tight, but shouldn't be a big problem.

It sounds like you have the rear of the car jacked up, and the axle is at "full drop". That puts the edge of the jounce bumper bracket against the tire. When the car is at normal ride height, the bracket would be sticking inside the back opening of the wheel and wouldn't interfere.

I have the ZR1 GS offset 17x11's, with 7.93" backspace. I simply cut the outer edge off the jounce bumper bracket to insure that there is no chance for the wheel to catch on it.

Is that all the same for a standard Z06 wheel? If the car is on a lift, there shouldn't be a problem then right? Just if you're jacking up the rear axle? Should I even cut anything if I do run into a similar problem or will it be fine? I mean my car probably doesn't go to full compression barely ever.....
