Re: whats the min backspace for 10" wheels on a 4th gen???

this is a pic of the wheels on his car can anyone help me?
the rears are 15x10
i know people say 6.5 is good but i am thinking these are only 5.5 bs so will it work?
Re: whats the min backspace for 10" wheels on a 4th gen???
are my eyes playing tricks on me or are there only 2 lugs holding the front rims on? as for backspacing, those back rims will stick out badly on a 4th gen. also that looks like a tall front tire.
Re: whats the min backspace for 10" wheels on a 4th gen???
thanks guys so i guess if they are 5.5 that would be 2 inches and if 6.5 1 inch outside wheelwell ? right
yes the fronts are 28x6 and rears are 29.50 x 12.50 also yes only two lugs it was rolled out for pics only

If you are getting the wheels with the tires, you'll need body work to put a 29.5" tire on a 4th Gen. 28.0 is about as far as you can go.
You want 7.5" BS with a 15x10" wheel, as indicated by Joe 1320 in the post above. This is a 15x10 7.5" BS Weld Pro-Star with a 28x10.5-15W on my Formula. A 5.5" BS wheel will stick out 2" further:

yeah well guess i will just buy his fronts on your site it says about changing the studs and a 5/16 spacer are the studs needed just to mount up the wheels ?
also any way to lift the rear to make them fit without trimming the qtr's just a stupid question i guess

Fronts need longer studs and spacers. There's a fairly detailed writeup on all this in the FAQ "sticked" at the top of the page for the Wheels and Tires forum thread listing.
I had 28.0" diameter QTP's. I just bolted them on in the back, and they fit. The inner fender liners has alreay been hammered for 315's on 17x11's. Nothing rubbed, until trap speed went over about 125MPH. Then the tires grew enough that the tread started rubbing on the sheet metal of the quarter panel at the front of the wheel opening. I moved the axle back about 1/4" and the problem went away, but trap speeds never went over 130MPH.
This it the Hoosier 28.0" tire:

Then I switched to the 28" ET Drags, and they were supposed to be 28.1" diameter. They wouldn't even fit in the wheel openings. I had to cut about 3/4" off the leading edge of the rubber bumper cover. I eventually opening it up to about 1.5" off the rubber bumper cover, and they looked OK. But on the dyno, we took it up over 130MPH and the tread of the tire hit the metal "nose" on the rear fender, that sits behind the rubber bumper cover. I had already hammered that point back quite a bit. I hammered it some more.
I think this pic was taken when I had about 3/4" off the rubber bumper cover.

I worked with a buddy of mine who had a 30th SS that was running 8.60@160+ MPH. He put 29.5" ET Drags on the car. The inner wheel liners were opened up quite a bit by a body shop, and they also took a hug chunk off the leading edge of the bumper cover, and out of the sheet metal in the 1/4-panel:

I run a 15x10 Pro Star XP with 5.5 BS on my 94 Z.
With a 275 50 15 Nitto drag radial it sticks about an inch beyond the fender. I run an Eibach drag launch kit that lifts the rear and several suspension mods so the car does not squat on launch, the tires have not hit the fenders yet.
I am going with a 28 inch tire soon so we shall see if I have any clearance issues.
I can Email you some pics of my setup if you like, I don,t have any hosted on the web to put up here.
