What size slicks on Salad Shooters?
If you want a true "slick" (example M/T ET Drag) you aren't going to find much in the way of 16" tires. On the other hand, you can find 16" sizes in the "DOT" tires, like the ET Street, or the Drag Radials like the ET Street Radial. For each line of tires, M/T (and most other manufacturers) have a table showing the "measured" wheel width. Rule-of-thumb is that the wheel width should not be more that 1" wider or 1" narrower than the tire tread width.
In practical terms, a 26x10.5-16 ET Street will work fine on a stock 16x8" salad shooter. Some people have even run the 26x11.5-16 on that width wheel, although it will look a little "pinched". M/T also makes a 28x11.5-16 that will work well with higher HP setups. With your A4, the ET Drag Radials would probably provide good results, but you are pretty much limited to a choice of 245/50-16 or 255/50-16 depending on the manufacturer.
