tires wont seal to rim

bought some mickey thompson drag radials. i took them along with my 5 star stock camaro rims to a local tire shop (menieke) and was planning on getting them mounted and balanced and be on my way.
after 30 minutes he comes into the lobby and tells me they wont seal. says that with 60psi they should seal and it didnt look like it would be possible and he couldnt go any higher due to insurance reasons. so he left the tires on the rims with just a lil air adn told me if i could get them seated he would balance them.
he told me it would be risky but might work if i.. lube them up real good and try to leave 75 psi in them overnight and they should seat themselves.

so does any of this sound right? what should i do in this situation?
TIA brian
