alright well im looking to get a set of tires because my kumho supras i think they are the 712's and are total crap for traction. the tires are 245/50/r16 so i want to know if i switch to F1-GSD3 245/50/r16 how much would my traction improve? also im looking at nitrous, would that cook these tires?

The GS-D3's are supposed to be pretty awesome all around for a street tire. I rarely see anything bad being said about them by people that have owned them. That's the reason I just ordered 275/40/17's for all 4 corners of my ride last night
They also have a reputation for being a little wider than most other tires of the same size (i.e, F1's in 245/50/16 will be wider than a Nitto 245/50/16)
If you do a search for "GS-D3" here on the boards you should come up with a lot of input.

I love mine. If you want a tire that "hooks up" on the street, almost no tire will make you happy unless it's a Nitto or drag radial. The GS-D3's are awesome in the following categories:
Ultimate cornering grip
Wet Traction
Low noise
Good wear
Looks
Straight line traction
I know that I will keep buying them as long as Goodyear keeps producing them.

with a cam, boltons and N20...you'll be hard pressedd for ANY tire to get traction.
but the F1s are great on the street for most driving.
also look into the firestone firehawk SZ50s

T/A Racer-
Sorry this is off topic but are you happy with you set up? I've been considering the CC305 with 1.6RR, and springs. I have headers and catback with custom CAI with K&N like you. I'm just wondering if you like the set up with basically stock heads(which I would have too).
Thanks

I have the GSD3s on the front of my t/a (getting drag radials for in back) and nothing but love for those tires. One of the best if not the best tires ive had on my cars.
only problem is the wait to get them, i bought the free replacemenmt plan from just tires (they no longer pro rate!!! if the tires still got good thread you get a new one free!!!) but the only warehouse that had these tires in 245/50/16 at the time wa sin arizona! Im in the midwest so that didnt help much. 4 Day wait or so for them!

the cam surge on the cc305 isnt bad, sounds nice, and im just waiting for a tune to help dial in my airfuel ratio. from what ive heard with my addons i should be able to pick up 15+ hp off a mail in tune, so im sure that will help some too. anyways im happy with my setup and with some tires that can grip ill be on my way to the track.

The big Q is, if i come in with 50% of my tread life dead, and i kill the tire and its not repareable. Do i have to pay for half a new tire, or do i get a brand new one for free??? Just tires used to be pro rated where youd have to pay a percentage based on tire life remmaining. They now dont care, as long as there is usable thread 2 or 3/32nds?? they will give you a whole new tire free.

thats what we have. we still have the prorated warranty that comes with the tires free, but pay a lil extra and get the full replacement warranty that covers any road hazard damage we cannot repair, ANY..albeit nail in the shoulder, sidewall, blowout, hit a curb..ANYTHING....new tire for free, for the life of the tire

I have 285/40-17 Kumho MXs on the wagon and have been really happy with them, excellent street tire that hold the road very well and seem to grip very nice. They used to be ~$120 each but the prices has gone up recently

I thought the SZ50's were dicontinued several years ago, and replaced with the SZ50-EP, which has also been discontinued and replaced with the Firehawk Wide Oval. You can sometimes find the OEM SZ50 sizes still in stock, because I believe the manufacturer is required to stock the OEM models/sizes for a specific period of years.Originally Posted by teke184
