Hey guys i was wondering if 275/40WR17 size tires would fit on the rear of my SS with no rubbing? Factory was 255 so i am just currious. Thanks for the help.

Re: Tire question

Yes, generally, they will.

Are you sure the car had 255's from the factory? I thought all 4th-gen SSes had 275's all around.

For future reference, questions like this should go in the Wheel and Tire forum.

Re: Tire question

Yes, 275's were actually an option on Camaros (not sure if it's SS only, or Z28, or what)

But they did come factory with 275's, so yes, those tires will fit just fine

Did an RPO lookup a long time ago..

Re: Tire question

275/40-17's were STANDARD on the SS coupes (16" on the convertibles). They were not optional on any other Camaro from the factory, although you could get them furnished "loose" from the dealer with the "F-1" package on any Camaro.

The stock tires on the Z28 were either 235/55-16 or 245/50-16 (QLC Z-rated option). There was never a standard "255" tire on a 4th Gen that I am aware of.

Moving to "Wheels and Tires"......
