Yes, generally, they will.
Are you sure the car had 255's from the factory? I thought all 4th-gen SSes had 275's all around.

Yes, 275's were actually an option on Camaros (not sure if it's SS only, or Z28, or what)
But they did come factory with 275's, so yes, those tires will fit just fine

275/40-17's were STANDARD on the SS coupes (16" on the convertibles). They were not optional on any other Camaro from the factory, although you could get them furnished "loose" from the dealer with the "F-1" package on any Camaro.
The stock tires on the Z28 were either 235/55-16 or 245/50-16 (QLC Z-rated option). There was never a standard "255" tire on a 4th Gen that I am aware of.

thanks guys i appreciate it..i thought that i read some where that it came with 255 tires...thats what i have on my car anyway when i bought it. Anyway thanks for the help guys
