Staggered tire size help
Ok, here goes. I have wanted a Camaro since I was 8 years old. I am currently 35. My wife says this is not a mid-life crisis purchase but a lif long dream purchase. I just bought a 1996 Camaro for $500 and the engine runs like a song. Great buy bla bla I could go on for hours. (LOL in short I love this car)
I am going to change my wheels to 17 inches next year. I am driving this car to work and it gets daily use. I am looking for a good staggered wheel set up to place on my current stock wheels. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As far as the tire selection I will decide on the tires as soon as I get a good staggered set up.
I have searched through the forums and did not see a set up just a lot of talk about types and different sizes on differing wheels. I will be upgrading to the 17 inch wheels for a larger tire selection next year. I change my tires yearly. I am looking for good performance out of the staggered tire set up. As I always say go to the people who know the most about what you are needing.
I have watched this community for a long time and am glad to finally be a Camaro owner and be a part of the community.

Re: Staggered tire size help
By "staggered", do you mean wider wheels/tires in the back? If so, 17x9.5 45-56mm offset in the front, with 275/40-17 tires. 17x11 50mm offset in the back, with 315/35-17 tires.

Re: Staggered tire size help
Yeah, I have come to the conclusion I am going to have to purchase new wheels. The 16 inch wheels on the car are stock and I am having trouble finding tires to fit with a staggered set up.
