Speedo Recal?

Guys I want to put 18" Y2K rims on, that will be sitting on 245/40/18's. Do you think I will have to recalibrate the speedo after doing this. If so what's the cheapest way, I know I can buy a HTPP but am trying to do it the cheapest way possible.

The 245/40-18 is virtually the same outside diameter as the 275/40-17's that came on your SS, so no speedo correction is required.

Just curious.... why are you putting such a narrow tire on the car? You paid extra to get the SS with the nice wide 275's......

The 245's are what come on the wheel package that I am looking at off of ebay, I want to stick with the 275's also but then would be looking at another 600-700 for tires on top of the 880 for wheels. What would you do: get 17's and keep the 275's I already have or go for the 18's?

Thanks for the help

I've bought 2 sets of wheels for my 94 Formula over the 10 years I've owned it.... 17x9.5" OZ Monte Carlos, with 275/40-17 all the way around; and ZR1 replicas, 17x9.5 275/40-17 in the front and 17x11 315/35-17 in the back. 18's never interested me. Even the 17's leave the brakes looking a little anemic when you can see them through the spokes.....

But I'm probably more "drag" oriented than "show" oriented, but I can see where some people like the 18's and larger.

Well, I finally got sick of d*cking around and ordered the chrome 17's got a real good deal, and will keep my 275 goodyears F1's they only have 5k on them so whats the point of getting rid of them. If I want to shrink some of the excess space in the wheel maybe I'll drop it, have to wait and see how she looks. Thanks for the help.
