Quick tire fitment question for winter car.

Will 205/55 R16 890 size tires fit on stock rims/tires that the original size is 225/50/16? Thanks.

Re: Quick tire fitment question for winter car.

I don't think any 4th Gen ever came from the factory with a 225/50-16 tire. The V6 came with 215/60-16 (26.2" diameter), the base Z28 with 235/55-16 (26.2" diameter), and the Z-rated option got you 245/50-16's (25.7").

You should have 16x8" wheels, and that will require something like a 225/55-16 in a "winter" tire. A 205/55-16 (24.9" diameter) is too small for an 8" wide rim, and way too small for the car, in terms of diameter.

Maybe you could have mentioned that up front. Thanks for wasting my time. I'll know better next time.

It's in the title of the thread. Perhaps I didn't word it clear enough for you, it was late.

It's also in my first post. I never mentioned what kind of car it was, all I said was the tire size was 225/50/16. Damn man, didn't mean any offense.
