Question about Vette wheels on '96 T/A

I've been through this whole section and have not come across the particular size combination of some rims that are for sale by me. They are OEM Corvette wheels. 18x8.5 frt, 19x10 rear. I have only seen 17's or 17x18, or different widths, etc. Is it possible this is correct? Also would these fit w/out any modification? If so what tire sizes do you guys recommend?

Thanks

The OEM C6 wheels are:

Front:
-18x8.5 (new 88967389, old GM 9594351)
-offset 56-58mm depending on where you see it
-backspace 6.53"

Rear
-19x10 (new 88967390, old GM 9594353)
-offset 79mm
-backspace 8.56"

There is a thread stickied at the top of the forum listing explaining what you have to do to fit those wheels on a 4th Gen F-Body. It includes some serious spacers for the rear.

Thanks

I read through all that and only saw where some modification was needed for the 10.5" or 11" rears. I will re-read. I just found 2 more sets in my area. Both are 17x18. One set is 17x8.5 and 18x9.5, no tires. The other set I have not confirmed the width but I assume they are the same. This set has tires. They are 245/45/17 and 245/40/18. From what I have read on here that seems a little narrow. So now I have a couple more questions.
First, is $425 w/out tires a good price? Is $550 with the tires I just mentioned, front 10% left and rear 80% a good price? And last, what do you guys think would be the best tire sizes to run with the 17x18 set up?

Thanks Again

Are you sure you read the right one..... the thread specifically addresses the exact wheels you were asking about, and had nothing to do with 10.5 or 11" wide wheels?

Those would more likely be C5 wheels. OEM:

Front:
-17x8.5"
-58mm offset
-7.0" backspace
-run a 255/45-17 (should not run a 275 on an 8.5" wide wheel)

Rear:
-18x9.5"
-65mm offset
-7.75" backspace
-run a 285/35-18

They will fit with no modifications, but will sit fairly deep in the wheel well. They will not sit out by the edge of the fender.

Some people buy the 17 front/18 rear staggered wheel sizes, then decide they don't like the fact that the front sidewall is taller than the rear sidewall, when you try and keep the tire diameters the same as stock. An alternative would be to go to a 275/40-18 tire in the back. But now you have the rear tire 1" larger than the stock size, requiring a speedo correction, raising the back of the car 1/2", and reducing the effective numerical rear axle ration slightly. On the Corvettes, they simply run a larger diameter tire in the back, but the suspension, speedo, etc is set up correctly for that approach.
