Which Offset?

I'm looking at a set of wheels that are 18x9.5". I'm thinking a offset of +40 would work, and put the wheel almost directly below the fenders. Is this correct? Or would a offset of +50 work better? I will be running these wheels on all four corners, and I will most likely run a 275/35/18 tire.

Thanks.

Thanks, I saw that. But I guess I was just wondering if anyone had first hand experience or pictures of 18x9.5" wheels in 40 and 50 offsets.

The diameter of the wheel doesn't affect the side-to-side spacing. A picture of an 18x9.5" wide wheel with a 45mm offset is going to put the outer edge of the tire in the same place as a 17x9.5" 45mm offset wheel.

Mine have a 45mm offset I think and they are just right IMO. Although I think 40 would be a safe move. Some bad pics, but it might give you an idea.
