Not sure what size tires to get

Hey all. I have a 2000 camaro that is in desperate need of some new tires but I'm not sure what size I should get. The current wheel setup is as follows front: p235/50R16 back: p245/55R16. According to factory standards the back tires are the correct size but the fronts are also suppose to be that size. My question is whether or not I should leave them staggered like this or if I should make them all the same size. Also any suggestions on tire brand would be great. This is basically a daily driver car. Any and all input will be much appreciated.

Same size will allow you to rotate the tires properly. The factory size was 245/50/16. After that you can diceide on whether you want a summer tire, or all season tire based on needs.

I think you mistyped the sizes. The base V8 cars, and the V6's with the Y87 package had 235/55-16 tires. The V8 cars with the Z-rated tire option had 245/50-16 tires. The base V6 models (you don't say which model you have) had 215/60-16 tires.

The tire size that came on your actual car should be shown on the label on the drivers side door.

I'd run the 245/50-16's all the way around. Someone might have wanted to get the "front skinnies" look, but all they accomplished was to mismatch the tire diameters. If the tag on your door indicates the car came with 245/50-16's the speedometer is calibrated (in the PCM) for the 25.7" diameter.
